PHOTO GALLERY: Day Trip in Newburyport with Shop Newburyport!

Did you know that downtown Newburyport is only 18 miles from downtown Portsmouth??

I was happily surprised by the 25-minute drive south to Portsmouth's charming "sister city" this weekend, where I explored the area with locals Shop Newburyport! They planned a fabulous day in their little city by the sea full of local shopping (My fave!) and exploring the historic architecture...

Here are some highlights from a spring day in Newburyport!

Gorgeous waterfront views along the boardwalk!

I had heard fantastic reviews about Plum Island Coffee Roasters, so I was excited to start the day with a honey latte and waterfront views! P.S. They serve White Heron Tea!

Love the historic charm....

We popped into the brand new Seabags store in downtown Newburyport, a company that sells handcrafted bags made from used sails in Portland, Maine! They also sell products from Maine-made Seawick's Candle Company and Rhode Island-made Lemon & Line!

(Photos captured by fellow New England bloggers Simply Adored and The Lilac Press!)

Life is Good opened its first brick and mortar shop in Newburyport 22 years ago!

We popped into locally-owned jewelry shop M.K. Benatti and learned that its stunning jewelry is both designed and created in their downtown location. #impressive

Locally-owned Soak Shoreline is a one-stop shop for pampering! One side carries a variety of soaps, lotions, and bath products, while the other side showcases the coziest selection of pajamas and bathrobes...

We browsed name brands like Hunter, Barbour, and Crabtree & Evelyn, while supporting local at Best of British - a cute shop carrying a variety of all all things England!

Thank you to Michael's Harborside and Oregano's for providing tasty nourishment for the day! And thank you to Shop Newburyport for hosting us in your beautiful town!

Shop local, eat local, love local!

xx
