This week we go behind-the-scenes with Pamela Hodgkins of Brass & Pine to learn more about her Seacoast beautiful business!

In one sentence, what is Brass & Pine?

Brass & Pine is a small, Seacoast-based business that specializes in custom home renovations, property flips, investment property renovations, Airbnb renovation and management, home staging,  and consulting!

How did you get started in this field?

My passion for home design projects started as soon as I bought my first home and investment property in Kittery a few years ago.  I’ve always been a creative person, and this opportunity gave me an outlet to imagine a space differently, transform a unique layout, and watch my vision come to life!
Being in Information Technology for five years prior to starting Brass & Pine, and lacking a creative outlet in my career, I knew right away that there was a special place in my heart for creating beautiful homes. In February of 2018,  I made my dream job a reality and started Brass & Pine!

What would you say is your specialty or “stand-out” quality?

In all of my projects, I want people to be inspired by each space they enter, and appreciate every little detail. I like accents that are funky, creative, and unpredictable, but overall my projects have a light, bright, and natural aesthetic. Adhering to my client’s budget, and maintaining timeless design is very important to me and my work.

Can you tell us about a recent project you completed that was particularly interesting?

I recently finished a complete home renovation for a couple I started working with in July—the home of someone I’ve known since I was three! The couple recently bought the family house my friend grew up in, and we transformed their home from top to bottom, and even added to the floor plan.
As soon as the project was underway, the couple announced they were expecting a baby at the beginning of December! We were able to work quickly through the renovation, and wrapped up two weeks early.

You have an Air B&B??

Yes!! I have a few Airbnb properties—one in Portsmouth, a second in Kittery, and a third property in Kittery that will open to visitors next spring! I love hosting out-of-town guests who are vacationing in our beautiful area!

Thank you for sharing your passion and work with us, Pamela! Here’s to many happy clients and Airbandb guests in your beautiful spaces!
