“From the Seacoast to the Farmcoast!”

Nestled between southern Rhode Island and Cape Cod lies the pristine coastal area of Farmcoast Massachusetts. I paid a visit to this hidden escape earlier this week and was wowed by the picturesque landscapes, rural American beauty, and unique activities it offers.

This coastal area has me wanting to return very soon; here’s why…

Westport Rivers Winery
I first tried Westport River Winery’s most famous product, Farmer’s Fizz, a few weeks ago at an event at Olive’s and Grace in Boston’s South End. I needed to figure out where this covetable taste came from, thus a trip to the vineyard!

The late summer day was perfect for taking a tour of the winery and sitting outside for a tasting of 7 of their high-quality wines (both free). Our guide, Brad, did an incredible job explaining the authentic process of making their hand-crafted, “no-corner-cutting” wines and champagnes. After the tasting, my favorite still remains the Farmer’s Fizz:). If you’re feeling hungry, bring a picnic lunch! Tasty alternatives might be The Bayside or The Back Eddy. Westport Rivers Winery hosts events throughout the year – live music, tractor rides, and a BIG holiday sale (happening the weekend after Thanksgiving)! This family-owned business also owns Buzzard’s Bay Brewing down the road, and is on my list for next time ;).

Horseneck Beach
A stunning, southern Massachusetts beach with sand dunes, beach grass, and warm waters…in September! Need I say more?

Padanaram Village

Historic, coastal, and oh.so.sweet! This small town was recommended by a friend (Thank you, Andrea!) and is the epitome of coastal New England charm. We took our bikes for a leisurely ride by the harbor, which was the perfect way to spend a sunny, September afternoon. The views of the harbor were vast and breathtaking!

In historic Padanaram Village, there are a handful of small shops and restaurants. Two stores, in particular, caught my attention – FLORA for home goods and Details and Design for clothing and coastal home accessories. After exploring this little area, we were mesmerized and wanted to stay longer! Alas, Rhode Island was calling our name…more on that later:).

Have you been to the Massachusetts Farmcoast? Do you have a favorite area or activity to do there?

Have a great week!

xx
